Negotiation Skills

Negotiation Skills: Micro Emotions

Workshop

This 1-day highly interactive workshop introduces the delegate to the emotions that are visible on an individual’s face, in the movement of their eyes plus in their body language, and how to read those emotions, particularly during a negotiation.

Content

The foundation of this unique workshop is the study of Dr Paul Ekman’s proven theories with the addition of certain NLP techniques.

This has been written and designed by Chris Kinsville-Heyne, Managing Director, C3i Strategic Solutions, and a Richard Bandler, licensed, registered and accredited NLP Business Practitioner.

The workshop starts with the introduction of Dr Paul Ekman’s theory of the 7 visible emotions through analysis of movement of facial muscles and pupil dilation.

It moves on to provide a template for the movement of the eyes in relation to specific questions and if the brain is being accessed in order to recall a visual or audio memory, create a sight or sound, access an emotion (Kinaesthesia) or access our Audio Digital; something we tell ourselves.

Aims

The training concentrates on achieving the following aims:

A typical Micro Emotions workshop will concentrate on the following points in detail:

Once the short theory session is complete, one member of the group will conduct a negotiation with another group member. They exchange places and repeat the exercise. Each negotiation is filmed and played back for the team as a whole so the individuals can see their own facial expressions and eye movements.

This assessment is repeated with each delegate thus encouraging the group to learn from each other. DVDs are presented at the end of the day.
