Key Message Development

Key Message Development

How do you talk about your business? It doesn’t matter if you are one man band or a large multi-national, you need Key Messages to describe yourself and your company to your many audiences; your existing and prospective customers.

The C3i Key Message Development Workshop is tailored to your individual needs in order to help you extract your current messages, and those all important facts that back them up.

For example, if your company is 20 years old and established you can talk about your “depth of experience”, your “reliability”, the “total numbers of years in business the top management team can bring to the table”. How about the different nationalities currently working for you? Well, that makes you truly “multi-national”.

If however, you are a small start-up you can talk about “bringing new ideas and a fresh approach to the industry” and a “more personal and individual service” to your clients. Get the idea?

Now don’t forget to have a minimum of three facts, and certainly no more than five, to back up each message, and you start to have the beginning of your own Corporate Key Message Book.

Once these are agreed, you can start to introduce them into your website, interviews and daily discussions.

Don’t overdo it; try and keep it simple. Three Key Messages are enough to remember at any given time. For example, in a normal interview, which isn’t as long as you think, you will just about have enough time to deliver those and their associated facts, should you be asked questions.
